Petrichor - Original framed abstract landscape oil painting
The definition of the word Petrichor is the pleasant earthy smell of rainfall. This is a perfect title for this small abstract landscape which is based on the view across wet farmlands on a local walk we do around the village looking towards the River Avon. I love the fresh smell of rain. There was something about the atmosphere that day, the muted colours in the mist and the soft light that struck me as beautiful, it was so peaceful and that's what I tried to capture in this painting.
