** SOLD** Childhood memories of the seaside never fade do they ......‘Rock Pools & Reeds’ is an acrylic palette knife seascape painting. Based on memories I have of holidaying in Devon as a child.

On the very first day of every holiday at the seaside my brothers and I would run excitedly down to the sea with my mum shouting behind us - don’t you want your swimming things? We’d reply – no we’re just going to paddle and inevitably, without fail, to her dismay we’d go in fully clothed and she’d have to spend the first night of the holiday trying to dry out 3 soaking sets of clothes!
 
This beach scene was painted from my memories and a sprinkling of imagination. The artwork has a lot of lovely textures built up through many layers of thick paint and scraping back (sgraffito) into areas with sticks and knives.

Framed in a soft grey frame with mount and ready to hang.
